Qualifying Scores

The following rules apply for North Gauteng Archery Provincial Colours:

  • An Archer must be registered with SANAA
  • An Archer must have Completed a minimum of 4 SANAA sanctioned tournaments in the 12 months since the last North Gauteng Provincial Championship up to and including the following North Gauteng Provincial Championships.
  • The best 4 scores are used to calculate and average from the qualifying tournaments
  • In order to qualify the respective archer has to participate in SANAA sanctioned tournaments.
  • The archer MUST participate in the National Championships in the discipline that he or she has qualified for colours. Colours obtained is pending this requirement. No National Championships, No Colours!

Provincial Colours Qualifying Periods

  • 720 and 1440 Qualifying Period starts directly after the North Gauteng Championship in February and ends with the North Gauteng Championship the following February.
  • Indoor Qualifying Period starts directly after the North Gauteng Championship in August and ends with the North Gauteng Championship the following August.

IMPORTANT  NOTE:

To be taken into consideration for North Gauteng Colours, the archer MUST take part in the North Gauteng Privincial Championship AS WELL AS the National Championship for the specific discipline and category.

Colours will only be assigned to the qualifying archer at the National Championships which is the final event for the Qualifying Season.

An archer cannot qualify for National Colours without first qualifying for Provincial Colours, and Provincial Colours require that the archer competes at both the Provincial and National Championships.

The National and Protea Standards

SANAA publishes its standards and score requirements shortly after the annual Congress, Each category has a different score requirement, while the conditions for the warding of Colours remain constant. These conditions can be found in the SANAA Constitution which can be downloaded from the SANAA website. Protea Colours are only awarded when the standards are reached and the athlete is to represent and compete internationally as part of the team representing the country. Members who log in to the Members Only area, will see their qualifying score for their respective category.

Provincial Colours Qualifying Periods:

The North Gauteng Provincial Field archery qualifying period/cycle will be from the 1st of February till the 31st of January in the following year.  North Gauteng archers needs to attend the North Gauteng Provincial Field Archery Championships during this 12 month qualifying period.  All other North Gauteng provincial colours qualifying criteria will apply.
